Parallab 350™ - The High Speed Air-based Thermal
Cycler
The Parallab 350™ utilizes its onboard high speed thermal
cycler for fast and effective cycling of 96 reactions at a time.
To start the thermal cycling process, the Nano-Pipetter is lowered
into the thermal cycler where the reaction tubes are temporarily
sealed with an elastomer pad on the open ends. The thermal cycling
is performed with forced hot air that is uniformly directed into
the chamber, around the assembled reactions within the glass tubes.
Hot air cycling is an effective way to achieve fast ramp rates and
quick temperature ‘turn-arounds.’ This eliminates the
hold time for both the denature and anneal steps to greatly reduce
the overall cycling time. The Parallab 350™ can typically
perform standard 35 cycle sequencing thermal cycling profiles in
less than 40 minutes, compared to 120-150 minutes with a conventional
block cycler. This all translates into fast processing and higher
throughput for your lab.
