Parallab 350™ - Nano-Pipettor Washing Station
and Decontamination Station
The Parallab 350™ includes an onboard wash station to effectively
clean the Nano-Pipetter between runs. This clean-in-place capability
eliminates the need and cost of disposable tips often required in
other systems. After each run the Nano-Pipetter is automatically
docked into the wash station where the entire device is cleaned
using high pressure water and air jets. Each of the 96 glass tubes,
their plungers and tips are thoroughly cleaned on the inside and
outside during this process.

For systems running PCR, which may require additional assurances
against carry-over, the Parallab incorporates a proprietary breakthrough
decontamination technology in addition to the standard wash station.
This process effectively decontaminates all 96 glass tubes to eliminate
carry-over without inhibiting further reactions. In an experiment
shown below, a single glass tube was used for 20 PCR amplification
runs. These runs were segmented into 10 ‘rounds’ of
amplification. Each round consisted of:
- Run a 35 cycle PCR amplification
- Run an agarose gel analysis of sample (+)
- Run the proprietary wash and decontamination protocol
- Run a 35 cycle amplification with no template to test for carry-over
(Round 10 is 45 cycles)
- Run an agarose gel analysis of sample (-)
Conclusion: Zero carry-over and no inhibition
of subsequent PCR** amplifications
Agarose gel analysis of repeated PCR reactions
showing zero carry-over and no subsequent reaction inhibition
even after over-cycling. L = 100bp ladder. 5ul total reaction
