Principle - Comparison of Primer Annealing

Three different primers are compared in the amplification of a target sequence.

Fig. 5. Result of primer annealing. A pair of AC primers produced an expected target product (lane 4). Conversely, a pair of conventional longer primers generated many other non-specific products including a target product (Lanes 2 and 3).
