BioGene announces the award of a
BBSRC
SMALL BUSINESS RESEARCH INITIATIVE
SBRI funded programme.
BioGene has been successful in being awarded funding for
research in collaboration with the Prof. T. Brown, Department
of Chemistry, University of Southampton. The award is for
research into novel linked fluorogenic probes for application
on the InSyte® instrument. The proposed novel
probe technology will offer enhancements for a number of
research and diagnostic applications for the probing of
nucleic acid strand variation, in particular where an element
of gene target quantification is desirable. This is one
application area where existing fluorogenic probe technologies
have limitations. It is BioGene’s intention to make
the chemistry license free for use with BioGene instrumentation.
