Why the Visual OMP Technology Is the Best

Accurate: Visual OMPTM uses the OMPTM (Oligonucleotide Modeling PlatformTM) engine, which properly incorporates all public domain thermodynamics parameters (from SantaLucia, Turner, and other labs) as well as extensive proprietary nearest-neighbor and multi-state thermodynamic parameters for DNA, RNA, PNA, and Inosine. Comprehensive: Large proprietary databases of supporting experimental data supported by several NIH SBIR grants. Accounts for salt mixtures, denaturing solvents, matches, mismatches, bulges, internal loops, and extensibility.

Continuous Improvement: OMPTM is enhanced by ongoing R&D, including current modified nucleic acids NIH SBIR grant. Derived parameters are added to OMP to improve and primer/probe design and secondary structure simulation to give you the most accurate results.

Versatile Assay Applications: Users may use OMPTM for ANY assay involved with nucleic acid hybridization. RNA, DNA, single or multiple probe design, microarrays, Taqman assays, genotyping, single and multiplex PCR, secondary structure simulation, sequencing, genotyping.

Multiplex Capability: OMPTM picks primers and probes which do not cross hybridize with each other and other targets, saving time, resources, and costs related with repeated optimizations.

BLAST Designs: With built-in BLAST design function, OMPTM will automatically select primers unique to a target and against a specified genome, preventing mishybridization artifacts in your assay.

CLUSTAL: Built-in CLUSTAL abilities allows the alignment of multiple, potential targets (isologs) so that one may choose regions of similarity or differences for primer/probe design.

Measures Binding Efficiencies: Simulation Module simulates all secondary structures for target (optimal and suboptimal), primers (optimal and suboptimal), homodimers, target and primer heterodimers, given specified conditions. Values for Tm, dG, percent bound, and concentration for all species are presented. Most important to the bench science, OMP predicts the binding efficiency between primer/probe with target in a single or multiplex assay.

Resulting Benefit: Improved accuracy of in silico predictions results in improved assay performance and faster development time.
